key mixing

Postby dred » Mon Jul 19, 2010 9:36 pm

flat out refused to give this a try for about 10 years, cause it sounded gay.

mr lee bus gave me a copy of mixed in key witch basically anaylze's your tunes and writes the key to your mp3's id3 tag. Then you can re-analyze your tags and bam, sort by key.

its no magic bullet, but it does help group tracks that may mash well together.

more info is good. anyone else use this?

I try to mix in key as much as I can, it always sounds really nice on the ears I rekon!
Mixmeister labels your tracks in key pretty fast, but mixed in key has the best results.

But kinda like what Anfo said, most of the tunes don't actually fit in good order just by being in key.

i dont have to worry about mixing in key anyways - because most the shit i play isnt musical - its more riddims n mechanical tripper noises.. only musical bits are tiny introductions..

but it sounds so retarded when mixing two musical tracks together which are in different keys - sounds like an inbred singing out of key

Its not going to actually be in key properly unless both decks are on quartz lock- so youd have to get two tunes that are exactly the same tempo and also in the same key. i dunno; too much information can take away from the creativity soemtimes- when it all gets too nerdy and hard I zone out...

edit- dred your track listings needs more poser bro!
scully in the area!!

your concept of crabasaurus rex amuses me.

but there were many prehistoric crustaceans.

and let's not forget the beloved trilobite.
